About Us
No Strings Attached was formed in October 2012
As an experienced woodwind teacher Sarah Abbott had several adult students who wanted to play in a band, but found most of the local ones of too high a standard.
There was a gap in the market.
Starting off in a very cold scout hut with only 5 members, the main objective was to play music with like minded people who could play and learn together.
Sarah teaches her band members to listen to each other, follow a conductor and play as part of an ensemble.
The ensemble is aimed at those of below grade 5 standard. There are a few members who have enjoyed it and stayed on, which aids those less experienced.
There is no audition, anyone is welcome to come and have a go, or just to sit and have a listen.
We put on our own concert once a year, as well taking part in New Milton Music Festival, where we have won our class for the last two years.
